The New Zealand tech sector is the place to be. Including companies of all sizes, tech is NZ's fastest growing sector, and third largest export earner, encompassing software development, IT services, electronics, medtech, agritech, healthtech, gaming and telecommunications and much more.

The SHIFT programme helps you make the transition into a tech role, whatever your background.  All you need is a first degree, we then help you add tech onto your existing skill set, to boost your tech sector employability.  This innovative industry focussed programme is delivered in two great locations in the South Island of New Zealand, Christchurch and Dunedin.

SHIFT caters to any degree background, and provides the skills and learning opportunities to transition into tech, or to move within it. SHIFT combines project-based learning, industry experience and industry placement, and gives you the ability to focus on a tech area of your choice.

The programme is focussed on employability, and includes many opportunities to meet and work alongside local industry employers, to create your own professional network, which is an important part of moving into a tech role in NZ.

Harry is a masters graduate who studied changes in work places & societies globally.
“I realised the dominating role tech plays in these changes, and I knew I had to be a part of the future. SHIFT stood out as the perfect gateway for me into the tech sector.”
Following on from his SHIFT industry placement, Harry has gone into a role with the RCG Creations team as a software developer.
Jessica trained and worked as a Radiation Therapist, and wanted to add tech to her clinical skills.
