SIGNAL Christchurch celebrates International Women's Day 2020

Monday February 17, 2020

An equal world is an enabled world. Individually, we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions - all day, every day.

We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women's achievements. Equality is not a women's issue, it's a business issue, and gender equality is essential for economies and communities to thrive. A gender equal world can be healthier, wealthier and more harmonious - so what's not great about that?

Join SIGNAL, Lentune, Onside, EPIC, Cerebral Fix & Drive at EPIC Event Space, as we celebrate International Women's Day and a gender equal world, along with our incredible line-up of inspiring speakers :

On International Women’s Day, March 8th 2016, Phillippa won a Zonta New Zealand 50 Women of Achievement Award, an honour she shares with Dame Silvia Cartwright, Helen Clark, Louise Nicholas, and other notable women who have focused their passion, drive and valued time into pursuing a better place for us to live. As a successful businesswoman, CEO and mentor, she believes it’s vital to stand up for women around New Zealand and internationally who are unable to do so themselves. "We can get more women involved to help speak for those who need to have a difference made to their lives, where they can’t speak for themselves or just need a hand reached out to them." Phillippa has been president of her Christchurch Zonta chapter, president of the Zonta youth wing ‘Z Club New Zealand’, and is currently Chair of Z Club Christchurch-Canterbury based at Avonside Girls’ High School.
