Cyber Smart Week is New Zealand’s cyber security awareness campaign. It's about helping all New Zealanders — individuals, as well as small and large businesses and organisations — make sure they’re secure online.
Cyber Smart Week is on from 19–23 October and this year we’re sharing four simple steps everyone can take to improve their online security:
- Step 1: Use a password manager – it’s like a vault for all your passwords.
- Step 2: Turn on two-factor authentication – it adds another layer of security to your account.
- Step 3: Update your devices – up-to-date operating systems and apps defend against bugs and viruses.
- Step 4: Check your privacy settings – know and control who can see your stuff.
Take action to improve your cyber security and spread the cyber smart word.
