The conference included the annual CITRENZ (Computing and Information Technology Research and Education New Zealand) conference, and was hosted by IT Professionals NZ (ITP), the largest IT representative body in NZ with thousands of members across the country and direct relationships with Government, academia and the industry.

SIGNAL Director Stuart Charters' presentation on 'Industry-based Education: What it is and why it is important' was based upon the innovations and successes of SIGNAL's programmes, and sparked a great deal of interest and further inquiry from attendees.
