Want to make something special this Techweek? How about a digital game in 48 hours?
SIGNAL is excited to co-host the inaugural Game Jam Aotearoa, a 48-hour game development hackathon as part of Techweek2020, running from 6pm Friday July 31 - to 6pm Sunday 2 August.
Game Jam Aotearoa 2020 is a fun and informative game creation event for people from any creative or digital sector to 'get involved and see what you can create in just one weekend'. Newbies and seasoned game jammers are equally welcome, and you can join in as a team, or join a team at the event!
Dial in from anywhere in NZ, challenge yourself, learn new skills, explore new roles and contribute any way you can to help build something fun. There will be a special international keynote on opening night, and some of NZ's most talented game developers will be offering tips and tricks thought the event. Plus you can access experts online from anywhere around to help you with your game. There will be awards for games, as voted by the public including People's Choice! These will be announced at the Christchurch and Dunedin Game Dev MeetUps on August 6.
