SIGNAL ICT Grad School is pleased to award a $1,000 scholarship to more than twenty teachers in the Educate programme this year. The teachers come from all over New Zealand and, whilst the majority are from high schools, we also have a number of primary and intermediate teachers, all intent on up-skilling to better deliver Digital Technologies content to NZ school children.
The scholarships are designed to encourage teachers who will have a big impact on our priority learners including Maori, Pasifika and female students, and also to assist those teachers who have a leadership opportunity to influence other teachers and student supporters. We look forward to welcoming all the teachers in the Educate programme to Christchurch during the Term 1 school holidays.
SIGNAL has also awarded eight $2,500 scholarships to students in the SHIFT Semester One Cohort - four each in Dunedin and Christchurch. The recipients are from a variety of backgrounds and all are looking forward to entering a career in tech, made possible by the SHIFT programme.
Enrolments are now open for the next SHIFT cohort which commences in July in Dunedin and Christchurch.
