Canterbury Tech Summit 2019

The annual event hosted at Christchurch Airforce Museum was a fantastic opportunity for the South Island tech industry to grow, connect and be inspired. 

The summit covered strategic trends and technologies that are driving digital transformation and shaping the future of IT and business.

Workshops focused on everything from Big Data, IoT, Diversity, Cybersecurity, business growth and development. Between events there was a pulsing hub of energy created by the many exhibitor's stands, and it was great to catch up with several SIGNAL graduates who are now working in tech roles in  Christchurch. 

A special mention goes to thought leaders Stephen Scheeler former Facebook CEO Australia & NZ, and Nigel Latta NZ psychologist for this year's inspiring and entertaining presentations.

Nine new industry hosts onboard for the Dunedin SHIFT projects

Following the successful Speed-Meeting event in September, the 2019 SHIFT cohort are now embarking upon their industry projects, gaining experience and proving their worth to local employers. The project topics include product development, IoT integration, web development, machine vision, data scraping and visualisation, database design, digital marketing and cloud platform migrations.
