Artificial Intelligence in the spotlight after NZ report release

The AI Forum has commissioned an in-depth report on the potential and projected impact of AI in the NZ socio-economic landscape.

"Artificial Intelligence: Shaping a Future New Zealand

This report is the culmination of a one year research project led by the AI Forum with research partners IDC and Sapere. The research examined the New Zealand and international AI industry landscapes, investigating AI’s potential impacts on New Zealand’s economy and society. The report identifies key AI opportunities, in the public, private and education sectors, that New Zealand can invest in now to actively shape the effects on our collective future."

The report is interesting reading and points, among other things, to a need for greater investment, more rigorous control and better education within this area.

As part of Techweek'18, SIGNAL Dunedin and the Institute of IT Professionals NZ will hold a lunchtime event  "Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning - Applications and Considerations."  View the event details and register here.
