Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Export and Leadership

Monday August 21, 2017

The Canterbury Tech Summit is being held to explore the trends, opportunities, and major shifts on the horizon, including how artificial intelligence will force major changes in society. The aim is that the event will bring together the country‚Äôs top tech talent as the industry rides a boom that could see it, perhaps one day, overtake dairy as the biggest exporter.

The opening keynote is from Andy Cunningham speaking about positioning companies for global growth. She is an entrepreneur based in California and worked with Steve Jobs in the 1980s to launch the Macintosh. Ben Kepes is the closing keynote discussing how New Zealand needs to aim to not be the next Silicon Valley but instead build a "technology ecosystem in a different way."

The Summit has speakers in the afternoon with subjects such as drones in the US market, artificial intelligence, geospatial technologies and design thinking, while workshops on cloud security, brand strategy and machine learning happen in the morning ensuring all areas of the tech sector are covered.

There are also exhibitors in the main area at the Air Base with companies such as SIGNAL, Estar Online, Jade, Catalyst IT and Cryptopia there to whet the appetite for future tech ideas.

Come and see us at Booth 16 for a chat.

The event is sold out (650 tickets) for a second year running.
