Shift SHIFT Studio Projects

Call for 2019 SHIFT Studio Projects

Monday March 18, 2019

The 2019 Dunedin and Christchurch cohorts are quickly upskilling and learning relevant tech skills that could help your organisation.  This year's students are as diverse as ever, bringing with them a wide range of personal and professional experiences.   Skills range from accounting and corporate business expertise, to sound engineering, neuroscience, linguistics, regional traffic planning, biochemistry and more.

If your organisation is based in Dunedin or Christchurch and could benefit from a team of talented students working on a project for you, then we encourage you to submit your idea.

SHIFT Studio Projects run for five weeks, and will have a team of three to five students working on them.  As the project sponsor, you would be asked to submit a short project description,  run a one hour briefing session with the project team, have a one hour weekly meeting with the students, and be available to answer any student queries via email during the project. In return,  you will get to meet and work with some of our great students, and have some work moved forward for your organisation.

Studio projects build skills and capabilities, expose students to new areas of tech, and give them a chance to research and implement a range of tech solutions. Each student will complete three studio projects during the year, so if you have more than one idea you'd like help with, then please submit them all.

To express your interest, or to find out more about how to submit a SHIFT Studio Project idea, please contact info@signal.ac.nz.  The first projects will kick off in the next month, so get in quickly to have yours considered.
