Welcome Amanda!

Amanda is a second year Science student at the University of Otago majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Gender Studies.

Amanda came 2nd in the 2017 NZ Top Student Awards (http://www.topstudentawards.co.nz/) in the Digital & Technology category, and was the only 2nd year student to make the finals.

Outside of SIGNAL and studying, Amanda works as a Student IT Advisor for the University of Otago, volunteers with CS First supporting young women in schools get into tech, and is a leader of Comp Girls Otago.

ATTN TEACHERS: Educate 2019 Scholarships open for applications!

SIGNAL has already awarded some Educate Scholarships for 2019, but there are still several available. These scholarships will help teachers and schools access the professional development needed to deliver the Computer Science (Computational Thinking) aspects of the new Digital Technologies curriculum, and boost the capabilities of their fellow teaching team.
