This NZ Herald article  points out a number of details New Zealanders of other backgrounds should be aware of, to ensure respect for the Muslim community.

These quotes from Jacinda Ardern resonate with many, in particular:

"To the families, we cannot know your grief but we can walk with you at every stage. We can and we will surround you with aroha, love, manaakitanga, kindness and all that makes us us."

Over the coming days and weeks there will be many discussions about the role of tech and tech companies, in particular social media platforms, in facilitating the sharing of video and hosting hate speech. It is heartening to see NZ tech companies take a leading role in demanding change.
