Call for SHIFT Studio Projects

Tuesday June 9, 2020

In the first half of 2020, SHIFT students have already completed ICT fundamentals, been busy engaging local companies and gaining insight into various tech roles, and learnt some of the key skills needed to work in the growing tech sector.

This Friday the group will present the results of their first Studio Projects to their colleagues and industry hosts, and we look forward to seeing what they have been up to.

Working with tech company G-Factor to assist with teen driver education are Dunedin SHIFT students  (L-R): Martha, Ewa, Jiro and Tzu-Chien.

Thanks to round one project hosts:

Ocean Browser Ltd (OB3)

Otago Museum

G-Factor (CoDriVR)

Cook Brothers Construction

Industry Projects: Round 2

The next round of project submissions closes Friday 19 June, and we would love to hear from you if you have a project idea that a SHIFT team could assist with over 6 weeks.

Do you have an idea for your business or organisation, but have had to park it? Could it be the start of a productive line of work? Perhaps some research, assessing, testing or user experience design project that will potentially add to your bottom line?

We would especially love to hear about software development or testing, data-driven projects and anything related to geo-spatial information services.

A group of 3 - 5 SHIFT students will collaborate and consult with you to find solutions, and you just need to be able to meet with them for one hour a week, or turnaround emails questions within 24 hours!

Round 2 Submissions close Friday June 19

Round 3 Submissions close Friday July 31
