Educate cohort convene in Christchurch

Thursday April 26, 2018

The group of twenty-two teachers hail from around NZ,  with diverse backgrounds and each brings experiences of different cultures, locations and roles.

Led by the international award winning Professor Tim Bell and Dr Trevor Storr, the block course covered mental models of programming and misconceptions in learning to programme, plus the opportunity to visit local tech spaces EPIC, Greenhouse and Bizdojo.

The cohort also enjoyed a panel discussion which included  some members of the Christchurch Women In Tech Society.

The teachers looked forward to returning to their classrooms, to implement their new found strategies, and better prepare their students for the high tech world they are part of.

Techweek '18 includes many events for both kids and educators, check out the Techweek website for what is on in your region.
